Under Construction!

Elves are the main characters that are used for role-playing, in this game. But that does not mean that elves are the only characters that you can use. You may also play Humans and Trolls.

There are several different Tribes of Elves that are available for you to use in play. You can design an elf of your own, that comes from one of these tribes, to use in playing.

There are also elves that are pre-made and ready for adoption, for those of you who want to play, but don't wish to design your own character.

Wolfriders

Wolfriders are Nocturnal (night-dwelling) elves that have a strain of mortal wolf blood running in their blood from the time of the 'High Ones'. They range in height of 2'3" to 4'8", with 3'7" being about the average. In weight, they range from 26lbs all the way up to 108lbs. They ride wolves and have taken on the 'pack' attitude of the wolves. They mentally bond with one wolfcub during both their (the elf and the wolf) childhoodthis is called 'bonding'. That bond grows stronger as the 2 grow up together and exists for the lifetime of that wolf; upon the death of the first Wolf-bond it is typical for that elf to be chosen by a grown unbonded wolf that may still be with the pack.

*****

This wandering group of mostly young wolfriders, had at one time not only been settled in what they thought to be a permanent home in an old, far reaching forest; but had been at least twice it's present size, filled with many elders (elves above the age of 100-1000).

Forced to travel far away by the ravaging and unfortunately, uncontrollable nature of a fierce plague (that not even their best healer could stop) the greatly reduced Wolfrider tribe travels onward to find another wooded forest that they maybe able to call their own. In a last ditch effort of hope the small tribe leaves markings, that only the sharp eyes of another elf could catch or even be aware of, showing their path to any of the survivors of the plague, so that they may follow and find their tribe-mates.

During their journey, they have encountered and enlarged their wandering tribe by adding other wandering elves to their 'Holt' proper. A small band of wandering 'Gliders', as they called themselves, who are also searching for something and a single Sea Elfess by recognition to a fellow Wolfrider.

Also during the journey, the 'Holt' has found that they are not the only elves on the World of Two Moons. They are no longer alone. But these new elves that they have encountered, the new elven tribe likes to be called Plainsrunners, are at War with another tribe of elves called Mountaineers.

The Wolfriders, although having no understanding as to why any elf would fight and kill another, for they were so few to begin with, but very understanding of fighting for survival against humans; became a neutral party and with the help and support of the wolfriders elder diplomats, were able to bring both the Plainsrunners and the Mountaineers back to Peace (even if a bit shaky.

In a return and as a show of thanks for helping the two warring tribes find a peace with one another, the tribes are helping the wandering Wolfriders explore the few pathways to an expansive, far-reaching, wooded valley that starts at the western side of the Mountains that the Mountaineers claim as their territory.

So it stands in time at this moment.

Gliders

Gliders are only 3 or 4 generations removed the the 'High Ones' and consider themselves to be the heirs of the 'High Ones'. They range in height of 4'0" to 6'2", with 5'8" being about the average. In weight, they range from 109lbs all the way up to 168lbs. There are 8 choosen hunters and they ride Gaint Hawks that they have bred.

The Gliders History:

First born of the High ones, Lord Voll led a party of young elves to Blue Mountain to create a safe haven from the humans. There they remained, honing their abilities and skills, shaping the interior of the mountain into an elaborate recreation of the Palace that had brought them to this world, as they remembered it. They bred a race of gaint hawks to bear them through the skies and came to be worshipped by a human tribe dwelling at the foot of Blue Mountain, and created the 'Chosen Eight' to be the elvin messangers who bore gifts to the humans, received tokens and live offerings of tribe members, and flew the great hawks to hunt for the Gliders.

Because they had lived so long in claustrophobic isolation, the Gliders had ceased to Recognize and therefore ceased having children after only a few generations within the Mountain. They convinced themselves that they were sterile and that all their elven kin had died in the terrivle 'outside'. During the early years of the Mountains, an elf named Ariu was one of Lord Boll's most trusted advisors and his closest friend. The two elves virtually grew up together, and shared the dream of a safe haven for their people from the outside world. Both Voll and Ariu also Recognized about this time, giving life to Selene and Tael respectively. But, contrary to Voll's beliefs, a restless Ariu thoughtthat the Gliders should continue to have at least a limited contact with the world beyound the Mountain and even saw a spark of intelligence in the feral humans, a potential for evolving past their fearful limitations and primal savagery much the way the gliders ancient ancestors had. Voll indulged his beloved companion, allowing brief contact with the Hoan'G'Tay'Sho' and making Ariu the first leader of the Chosen Eight after the resounding success in breeding the giant hawks that came to seve as the Eight's mounts.

It was about this time that a previously minor female advisor came to Voll's attention. In a relatively short time, she became Voll's Lovemate and closest advisor throught her scheming and clever machinations. This was Winnowill, the on-time Healer of Blue Mountain. As the centuries passed, the Gliders haad become so safe and passionless within their stony stronghold that there was nothing for her to do; she could not heal, force Recognition or act as an intamate initiator. So she and her power festered and turned in upon herself, creating a vast inner darkness that dragged her down even as she created minor 'accidents' ostensibly to keep her sane. Torture and enslavement became diverting pastimes for her, and she learned to feed off the dreams of her people and continued the practice with nascent humans. Unable to tolerate her own companty, she always messing about with others lives and 'protecting' Lord Voll and the other Gliders ultimately to death.

Learning of these supposed accidents, as well as Winnowill's cruel schemes upon his return from an extended hunt with the nascent Eight, Ariu confronted the Loveless One in her own lair beneath the Mountain. Actively championing her victims in audiences with Lord Voll in open defiance, he soon earned her undying enmity for his influence over Voll and continual thwarting of her evil plans. And so, Winnowill cunningly 'arranged' for Ariu to go on an exploratory flight into the Tundra north of Blue Mountain, under the guise of locating the long lost Palace of the High Ones. A flight Ariu never returned from, leaving his firstborn son, Tael to lead the Chosen Eight at the cost of being a minion of an increasingly insane and abusive Winnowill as Lord Voll sank deeper and deeper into apathy.

Decades later, Tael set out to find his Father with Voll's only child Selene and the remaining members of the Eight who'd served with Ariu accompanying him. Setting out from Blue Mountain, they soon encountered the Havenwood Wolfriders, discovered Tael's previously unknown younger half-human siblings Tristram and Isolde, and Tristram Recognized Selene. The success of their chosen mission has yet to be determined.....
